Jaffray School Drama Club Presents...


Lena a 5 year old girl loves to watch fantasy movies.  She has often imagined herself inside the movie that she is watching.  Lena is brought into the fantasy world wherein The Magic Tree  that gives gifts once a year to the forest friends,  is about to be chopped down by the mean Queen.  Will Lena be able to help the Magic Tree and the forest friends?  Will the gypsy, the sprite, the princess and the wolf be able to stop Knight Asher who has been ordered to cut down the Magic Tree?  Will kindness help this story?  All of these questions will be answered with many a laugh in between.

 THE MAGIC TREE is an original play based on the ideas, opinions and intuitions of 8 young actors between the ages of 7-9 and written by Denise Bertrand a Theatre director and writer who is now working for IMAGE. The students have been enthusiastically learning the craft of performing a play for public audience since October 14.  In seven short weeks, and twenty four hours of training the students have learned creative expression; vocal power; scripted lines, characterization, body language expression, teamwork and so much more.  We hope you enjoy the show!
